URCC NCORP Research Base 2023 Annual Meeting Recap

The URCC NCORP Research Base 2023 annual meeting was fantastic! It was our pleasure to host our NCORP Affiliates and investigators in Niagara Falls this year! The science was bold and yet practical and centered on solving real problems our cancer patients and providers face every day in the United States! Oh let’s not forget how beautiful Niagara Falls was on Friday night all lit up with fireworks to boot! See you all next year! Now let’s go get some terrific science done and change the world in the meantime.

URCC Retreat Recap: Sparks Group

URCC NCORP RB held its 2nd team-building event in March 2023. This session was facilitated by Fiona Grant and Jessica Bronzert of The Sparks Group.

Each attendee completed Gallup’s Full 34 CliftonStrengths assessment, which measures individuals’ unique talents and natural patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving.

With the use of this framework, we each learned our personal Strength styles, natural patterns, and those of our teammates.

With fun activities and group exercises, we learned how to implement what we learned about ourselves into our current team structures.

Faculty and staff participated in animated conversations, and learned different techniques like S.T.O.P (Stop momentarily, Take a breath, Observe, and then Proceed), deep listening, and reflective questioning.
